performance rating; any reference number?

Hi,
the performance rating tool is good, but where can we found some references? my p4 2Ghz is rated 2.4 and my Radeon 9800 5.3 how a 3Ghz is rated? and a dual core? 32bits/64bits? etc... how the latest video cards are rated?
thanks.
Jerome.

Since others are posting their numbers, here's the results for my Shuttle SN85G4:
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 4.6 2Gb RAM 4.4 HD (Barracuda 7200.7) 5.1 Radeon 9600 Series 3.2 Gaming 255Mb 3.1
Overall Result: 3
Guess I should be looking for a better graphics card - though I do have an AGP nVidia Geforce FX5500 256Mb lying around doing nothing. I wonder if that would be better?

FX5500? Not sure. You should look for something like a 7800GS if you want a good AGP card

I wouldn't get any higher up than a 6600 if you're going AGP, unless money

Besides, the 9600 should be able to run Aero Glass fine unless you're

running it at a high resolution. The 9600 probably performs better than the FX5500.

Well, it would be nice to have something that scored a little better for the Vista performance rating, but I don't want to spend lots of money at this stage.
I just wondered if the FX5500 I have would be better than the Radeon 9600 already installed, both have 256Mb RAM, but Travis appears to have answered that.

Oh, I have Aero Glass running ok, and I'm at 1024x768. 3.2/3.1 just seemed low performance ratings for graphics (considering the card was pretty close to top notch when purchased around a year ago), and since the FX5500 card is sitting on the shelf, I just wondered if it was worth swapping them over.
But you think the Radeon is the better of the two? (both have 256Mb RAM)

NVIDIA GeForce FX5600. If you had an NVIDIA GeForce FX5600 Ultra or higher, you'd be ahead of the 9600 IF the 9600 is not the PRO version. Go here to learn more. http://techreport.com/etc/comparo/graphics/

That's really weird, I have the exact same processor marked with 2,3... I think Performance Rating is just complete bogus in beta builds... It is even unable to properly detect my 1,5 GB RAM (detects as 1 GB), and yet system itself sees it no problem...

well... next year new hardware will be rated 6 or 7 the base reference will not change until vista changes... I think there is "no" upper limit in this rating.

The performance ratings should scale up to unlimited levels.
Then when the next Windows comes out, reset the ratings again...
There's no point continuing Vista's rating in the next Windows cuz the baseline PC by then will have a rating of 164...
That's why reset everytime a new Windows comes out. Besides, Vista-era PCs CAN'T run the next Windows probably and there's no point reserving those old PC rating levels.

Yes.

1 is lower than 5 in Vista' Performance Rating, yes, but there's been no evidence so far of any absolute limit (at either end of the scale).
For example, the Seagate HDD in my main Vista machine is rated at 5.1, so 5 is definitely not the limit.
